FAQs
What Do You Need for a Notary Appointment?
Title or Question
Nothing is more frustrating than a notary appointment that can’t be completed because of a missing document or an expired ID. To ensure your notarization goes smoothly and efficiently, please review the requirements below.
1.Valid, Government-Issued Photo Identification
By law, I must verify the identity of every signer. Please have one of the following unexpired forms of identification ready:
- Driver’s License (Issued by any U.S. State)
- State-Issued Identification Card
- U.S. Passport or Passport Card
- Military Identification Card
- Foreign Passport (stamped by U.S. Immigration)
Note: If your ID is expired, I cannot legally accept it, even if you have renewal paperwork.
2.The Complete, Unsigned Document
Please ensure your document is completely filled out before I arrive.
- Do NOT sign the document beforehand. A core part of my role as a Notary Public is to witness your signature in person. If the document is already signed, I may be required to ask you to sign it again in my presence, or I may be unable to notarize it at all.
- If you have questions about how to fill out the document, please contact the agency that issued it (e.g., your title company, attorney, or bank). As a notary, I am legally prohibited from providing legal advice or explaining document contents.
3. All Necessary Signers Must Be Present
Every person whose signature is being notarized must be physically present at the time of the appointment. We cannot notarize a signature if the signer is not in the room.
4. Witness Requirements (If Applicable)
Some documents (such as Wills, Trusts, or certain Deeds) require the presence of witnesses in addition to a notary.
- Please check your document’s instructions carefully.
- If your document requires witnesses and you do not have them available, please let me know at the time of booking so we can determine if I can provide them or if you need to arrange for them to be present.
5. Payment for Services
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept: Cash, Cash App, Zelle
